Psyllium, also known as blonde psyllium, is a low-growing herb native to Iran, Pakistan and India. It is the main ingredient in the commercial dietary supplements "Metamucil" and "Citrucel". Psyllium is most commonly known and used for its high mucilage content.
Mix 2 teaspoons psyllium with at least 8 ounces (a full glass) of water or other fluid. Taking this product without enough liquid may cause choking.
Do not use Psyllium if you have a bowel obstruction or a disease that causes narrowing of any part of the digestive tract.
Diabetics should avoid Psyllium.
Take with plenty of water.
