Description
This is the powdered inner bark of the slippery elm tree. Slippery Elm is a small tree native to North America. The bark is harvested from the tree in the early spring and the outer bark is scraped off, leaving the mucilage-rich inner bark.
Directions
To use as a tea, pour 1 cup boiling water over 1/2 teaspoon herb, cover and steep 3 to 5 minutes.
Suggested Use
The soothing mucilage is used in ointments, poultices, throat lozenges and skin care products.
